My name is Rick Miller and I am a third year graduate student at North Carolina School of the Arts. Although I am studying technical direction, I also consider myself a director, designer and educator. Over the last sixteen years, I have accumulated a wide range of experience in all aspects of theater. These experiences have brought me from Texas A & M University and American Musical and Dramatic Academy as a student to working at Samuel French play publishing in New York City as a theatrical leasing agent and Boone High School in Orlando, FL as a drama teacher. I
am currently working on West Side Story as the associate technical director.
This production is a 50th anniversary celebration of West Side Story
directed by Gerald Freedman the assisstant director on the original
Broadway production and designed by Howard Jones. With this production
I am working with a $64,000 materials budget. NCSA produces a show of
this scale once every ten years and I am fortunate to have this experience. |
